NOVEMBER 12-16, 2018

During the month of November 2018, the Utah System of Higher Education will be sponsoring Utah College Application Month. During the week of November 12-16, all seniors expected to graduate in 2019 will be encouraged to apply for admission to at least one college or university, if they have not already done so. This event is possible due to the collaborative efforts of the administration, faculty, and staff at Murray High School, as well as students, their families, and volunteers across the community.

The purpose of this day is to acquaint students with the college application process and to communicate the importance of applying to college. Information about completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will also be made available during the event. There is a College Application Worksheet which we encourage students to complete prior to the event. The worksheet is available at the bottom of this letter and on the school counseling center website. Please assist them in the completion of this worksheet as having it completed and available at the College Application event will allow students to quickly and easily complete college applications. Each college requires a set application fee that must be paid by credit/debit card. Each student will need to bring a credit/debit card with them at their scheduled time. If they do not have a credit/debit card available or if you are unable to pay this fee, please contact his/her counselor for other options.

Parents/Guardians are welcome to visit Murray High School to assist their student during the application process. If you are interested in attending, please contact Dana Adams in the counseling center for the date and time your student will be applying.

If you have any questions please call the counseling center at 801-264-7464.  Thank you in advance for your support of this exciting initiative to encourage all Utah students to make college a part of their future.
